Napoli defender Hugo Campagnaro is in ‘advanced’ talks with Inter Milan about a free summer move, as his contract expires in June.
Campagnaro, 32, was signed by the Azzurri in 2009 from Sampdoria and has risen to represent his country, Argentina, with a host of impressive performances this season.
But it appears the versatile defender has his heart set on a move, and has been enticed by the fact that so many of his fellow countrymen ply their trade in Milan.
“The negotiations with Inter are at an advanced stage, but there is nothing official,” he told ESPN Argentina. “I know a lot about Inter because there are many Argentines there and I’ve spoken to Rodrigo Palacio. However, for now, I’m only thinking of giving my all for the Napoli jersey.”
