Banel Nicolita claims Nantes have yet to pay him fully, taking case to FIFA

Banel Nicolita has told Romanian media he intends to complain to FIFA over Nantes' failure to pay him his wages.

Nicolita, who is currently a free agent, spent last season on loan at Les Canaris from fellow Ligue 1 club St Etienne.

And the Romania international says he will haul Nantes in front of world football's governing body for their failure to pay him in full.

"I'm ashamed that a club of Nantes' stature treats its players in this manner," the 29-year-old told Dolce Sport.

"I didn't expect to have to fight to defend my rights at such a club. But that's the way it is, I'm going to take my case before FIFA.

"They still owe me money based on my contract. They are doing all they can to take revenge for me not signing a contract extension at a lower salary."

The claims of the former Steaua Bucuresti man -- who provided a goal and five assists in 20 league appearances for Nantes last season -- were countered by the club's director general Franck Kita.

Kita, son of Nantes president Waldemar, said Nicolita had left the house he rented in a "pitiful" state, and that he had "not paid his rent" in full.

"As long as the player has not sorted all of that out, the club will keep his last month's salary," Kita added. "I hope that the unemployment benefit office will be more generous with him than us."
