Montreal Impact sign right-back Michael Petrasso from QPR

The Montreal Impact signed right-back Michael Petrasso from Queens Park Rangers on Thursday.

The 22-year-old had been with the English Championship club for the past six years, but mutually agreed to terminate his contract last week. He signed a two-year deal with a club option for a third.

He spent much of his time in England on loan to a series of clubs in League One, but he did appear in 11 Championship games for QPR.

A product of Toronto FC's academy, Petrasso has earned eight caps for Canada.

"Michael joining the roster is positive because he is a young Canadian international," said Impact head coach Remi Garde. "His qualities allow him to play in different positions and therefore offer many options for the team. The room he has for improvement is very interesting for him and for the Impact."
