Minnesota United's scheduled Wednesday night game against the Chicago Fire in Saint Paul, Minn., was postponed just two hours before kickoff due to a suspected case of COVID-19 among the Loons' team delegation.
It is the second consecutive postponement for the Loons, whose scheduled Sunday night contest at FC Dallas was postponed Saturday after two first-team players tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday.
The Loons returned to practice on Tuesday when, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, they were tested twice, as they were again on Wednesday.
MLS said in a statement that a new match date and time would be announced at a later date.
Another scheduled Wednesday MLS game, the Rapids at the Seattle Sounders, was postponed Monday, as were Colorado's subsequent two games. The Rapids have had seven matches postponed as five players and 13 staff members tested have positive for COVID-19 in recent weeks.
