Javier Hernandez not in Mexico starting XI vs. New Zealand

Mexico striker Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez was left out of Juan Carlos Osorio's starting XI to face New Zealand in El Tri's second Confederations Cup match on Wednesday.

In all, Osorio made eight changes from the team that drew 2-2 with Portugal in their tournament opener, but Mexico's all-time leading scorer was most notable.

Hernandez scored Mexico's opener in the 42nd minute against the European champions on Sunday, equalling the score at 1-1 after Ricardo Quaresma's 34th-minute strike.

Osorio also left forward Carlos Vela on the substitutes bench, while Raul Jimenez was the lone forward who was kept from the Portugal match.
