PSV Eindhoven midfielder Andres Guardado trained with the Dutch club on Friday and said he feels ready to return to the squad after he injured his ankle during the second half of last month's 2-1 Champions League victory over Manchester United following a foul from United defender Chris Smalling.
"I've had these type of problems before and based on how I feel today I think I could play, I could have minutes, but I tell you that depends on the coach and the doctors," Guardado told reporters after Friday's training session.

The club issued a news release saying that Guardado's training session went well and adding that if he performs well at Saturday's training, he could potentially see minutes in Sunday's match against Ajax.

A return to club play would open the door for the 28-year-old to see action on Oct. 10 when El Tri face the United States in the CONCACAF Cup, the lone qualifier for the 2017 Confederations Cup.
Mexico trimmed the roster on Thursday but left Guardado on the short list.
PSV had initially said the injury would take four to six weeks to heal. Mexico last month sent national team physical therapist Carlos Pecanha to Eindhoven to evaluate the injury and help out with the player's rehabilitation.
The Mexican federation said in a statement on Thursday that two players will be cut from the squad ahead of CONCACAF's Monday morning deadline to confirm the 23 players, depending on the condition of Marquez and Guardado.
