Mexico included forwards Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez and Carlos Vela to a provisional squad ahead of the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Manager Miguel Herrera selected 35 players for the squad, including nine who play their club football in Europe.
Jesus Corona is the only player on the list who is currently with the Mexican team that will participate in the Copa America in Chile, between June 11 and July 4.
The Gold Cup is clearly the priority for El Tri, as the team features a greater wealth of experienced players, including goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa; defenders Hector Moreno, Miguel Layun and Diego Reyes; midfielders Hector Herrera and Jonathan Dos Santos, and forward Giovani Dos Santos.
Mexico will need to win the Gold Cup to force a playoff with the 2013 winners United States for a spot in the 2017 Confederations Cup in Russia.
Before the tournament begins, the squad will face Costa Rica in a June 27 friendly in Orlando, before taking on Honduras on July 1 in Houston.
Mexico will cut the squad to 23 players on June 23 before beginning play in the Gold Cup against Cuba in Chicago on July 9.
