Melbourne Victory bans supporters involved in Sydney brawl
Melbourne Victory have taken firm action against supporters of the A-League club who were involved in a wild brawl at a Sydney park earlier this month, banning them from attending future games.
Several of those involved in the March 3 incident -- which preceded Victory's clash with Sydney FC at Allianz Stadium -- were already known to the club for "similar indiscretions" at other venues, and had been "disruptive and confrontational" in the North End active area at home games, according to a statement on Thursday.
The club said they had now been banned from Victory matches but did not specify how many there were or for how long.
NSW Police are still investigating the confrontation at Ward Park in Surry Hills, which involved around 30 people and allegedly the use of road works equipment as weapons.
Four Victorian men have been charged so far.
