Match Commentary

Two games, four points (and David James finally dislodged from the starting eleven) and suddenly it doesn't seem so bad, does it, eh?

So, England let a one goal advantage slip again but this time they managed to get their noses in front and make it stick. Poland threatened intermmitently with the pace of their counter attacks but the final score was probably fair. Cole and Bridge working well together down the left was the best feature of this England performance coupled with the brightness of Defoe, who capped an impressive display with a quality strike. Owen, on the other hand, had another disappointing evening.

Final whistle sounds and, though it was far from a classic, it is England who take three welcome points. 2-1 the final score.
