A dour first half was spiced up by the penalty and sending off that gave Valencia a lead at half time. Marseille were always chasing the game after that and the clinical second from Mista finished the game. The whole game hung on that incident and it was far from a classic but when you get to a final the result is everything and Valencia showed their experience. Very hard on Marseille who showed little of the style and verve of the previous rounds
