Man United boss Solskjaer showed videos of himself to inspire us for Arsenal - Matic

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer showed his players videos of himself to inspire Manchester United to a stunning win over Arsenal in the FA Cup, according to Nemanja Matic.

Solskjaer played his squad recordings of some of United's best counter attacking goals against Arsenal in the build up to the fourth round tie at the Emirates and the tactic worked again as the Norwegian's side won 3-1 to extend his perfect start as caretaker manager.

"He [Solskjaer] was in there also!," joked Matic after being asked about the video preparation. "I think we prepared for the game really well. We analysed them. I think every person in the staff did a great job. We knew exactly what to expect. We knew what we had to do.

"We knew how we could hurt them so we used our chances and I think the preparation was great and this is the result of that."

Alexis Sanchez, Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial were on the scoresheet for United and Matic was especially pleased for Sanchez after the Chilean scored on his first return to the Emirates after leaving Arsenal a year ago.

It was just Sanchez's second goal of the season after a difficult start to his career at Old Trafford.

"Alexis has great character," said Matic. "He works every training 100 percent and I'm happy for him because when you work like that, in the game, you can't play bad so he is doing very well. He helps the team. He is a great guy. I'm happy for him because he must understand he is a very important player for us."
