Manchester United boss Solskjaer hopeful Sanchez will be fit for Brighton match

LONDON, England -- Manchester United are hopeful Alexis Sanchez will be fit to face Brighton on Saturday despite missing the clash with Tottenham through injury.

The Chilean was not part of the group that travelled to London on Saturday and was not in the 18-man squad named by caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Wembley.

Sanchez is expected back in training on Wednesday and could feature against Brighton at Old Trafford if he can prove his fitness.

"He's not ready yet," Solskjaer told MUTV of Sanchez. "Hopefully, or I think so, he'll be training when we get back.

"Maybe on Wednesday he'll be in full training. It's just one of those blows. He is just having a hard time of getting rid of it. Maybe next week he could be involved."

The 30-year-old was forced off during the 2-0 win over Reading in the FA Cup with a hamstring injury but still flew to Dubai for United's warm weather training camp.

After failing to shake off the problem he was left out of the squad to face Tottenham but could be back against Brighton.
