Manchester United set to rotate heavily for Valencia Champions League trip

MANCHESTER, England -- Manchester United are set to travel to Valencia without a host of first-team regulars after a number of Jose Mourinho's squad sat out training on Tuesday morning.

Anthony Martial, Chris Smalling, Diogo Dalot, Luke Shaw and Matteo Darmian all missed the session at Carrington, United's training ground, ahead of the flight to Spain.

Long-term absentees Victor Lindelof and Alexis Sanchez were also missing but Eric Bailly and Antonio Valencia were able to take part.

Youngsters Mason Greenwood and James Garner were also part of the group.

Manager Jose Mourinho has already confirmed Paul Pogba, left on the bench for the last two games, will start against Valencia alongside Andreas Pereira and Sergio Romero.

Nemanja Matic trained as normal on Tuesday but is unlikely to feature with Mourinho set to rotate his squad ahead of the trip to Anfield to face Liverpool on Sunday.

United have already qualified for the round of 16 of the Champions League but will top Group H if they beat Valencia, currently 15th in La Liga, and Juventus fail to win against Young Boys in Switzerland.
