MANCHESTER, England -- Paul Pogba has been forced out of the Manchester derby through injury.
The Frenchman was absent from training on Friday and despite receiving treatment over the weekend failed to pass a fitness test ahead of the game at the Etihad Stadium. He is replaced in Manchester United's starting XI with Marouane Fellaini.

Speaking about Pogba's absence to Sky Sports before the game, Jose Mourinho said: "He was injured during the game [against Juventus] in Turin. He resisted, he felt that he could resist.
"He felt that was such a crucial match for the team. He made that sacrifice for us and then it was impossible for him to recover for this."
Pogba scored twice in United's 3-2 win at City in April but after picking up an injury during the 2-1 victory over Juventus in Turin on Wednesday has missed out on facing Pep Guardiola's side.
Romelu Lukaku returns to the squad after missing the last two games with a hamstring injury and is named on the bench alongside Alexis Sanchez.
Marcus Rashford has been picked to start up front in a front three that also includes Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial. Ander Herrera retains his place in midfield after returning to the team against Juventus.
Manchester City XI: Ederson, Walker, Stones, Laporte, Mendy, Fernandinho, B.Silva, D.Silva, Sterling, Mahrez, Aguero.
Manchester United XI: De Gea, Young, Smalling, Lindelof, Shaw, Herrera, Matic, Fellaini, Lingard, Martial, Rashford.
