Manchester United could install gender-neutral toilets at Old Trafford

Manchester United could introduce gender-neutral toilets at Old Trafford in a bid to make the stadium more inclusive, the club's September fans' forum has been told.

The proposal, which would make United the first club in the Premier League to have such facilities, is being considered by club officials.

"It's something we are looking at as we are keen to ensure that Old Trafford continues to be welcoming and inclusive to all supporters," head of security Jim Liggett said.

"Our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion is important in everything that we do. We are constantly working with key stakeholders, including Stonewall, on such topics."

United have also announced the installation of "vehicle mitigation bollards" to guard against the possibility of a terror attack.

"There is a programme to install high-security hostile vehicle mitigation bollards at a number of points around the perimeter of the stadium," Ligett said. "These works are scheduled for completion ahead of the New Year."
