Jose Mourinho: New Manchester United No. 2 'is linked to another club'

ESPN takes a look at what Prince William's journey from the Royal Wedding at Windsor to the FA Cup final at Wembley would've looked like, had he decided to do both.
ESPN's Manchester United correspondent Rob Dawson discussed how he feels Jose Mourinho can create a side to rival Manchester City.
ESPN's Manchester United correspondent Rob Dawson gives his view on the club's second-place finish to rivals Manchester City.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has hinted he is set to make big changes to his backroom staff at Old Trafford when No. 2 Rui Faria departs after the FA Cup final.

Sources have told ESPN FC that Under-18s coach Kieran McKenna is under consideration to make the step up, while Mourinho also suggested he will appoint someone he has worked with at one of his previous clubs.

There is speculation that Javier Zanetti, who played under Mourinho at Inter Milan, is one of the names in frame.

"A person who worked for me before will come but I can't say his name because he is linked to another club," Mourinho told Portuguese newspaper Record. "Michael Carrick will be part of the coaching staff but I'm also looking to get two new people.

"There are many good coaches but I like to make my assistants. I don't like coaches who are already trained, I like to shape them to my way of thinking and they grow with me and I also grow with them."

Mourinho has also insisted his feud with Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is over as the pair prepare to meet in the FA Cup final.

Mourinho and Conte were involved in a war of words earlier this season, with the Italian branding his rival "a little man" and "a fake,"

Mourinho hit back by making reference to Conte's implication in a match-fixing scandal in Italy.

But ahead of their meeting at Wembley on Saturday, the Portuguese coach says they buried the hatchet following Chelsea's 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford in February.

"Everything is OK, everything is fine," he said. "He stretched out [to shake hands], I stretched out. We got bored. After the game here in Manchester, I invited him to my office. We spoke and nothing has happened."
