Valencia, Carrick and Mkhitaryan in Man United squad for Dubai trip

Antonio Valencia, Michael Carrick and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have all travelled to Dubai for Manchester United's warm weather training camp.

Jose Mourinho's squad jetted out from Manchester airport on Monday morning ahead of a five-day break in the United Arab Emirates.

Valencia has missed the last six games with a hamstring injury while Carrick has not played since undergoing a routine heart procedure in October.

Both are back in training and are part of the group in Dubai.

Mkhitaryan has also travelled despite sources telling ESPN FC that Inter Milan are interested in taking the Armenia international on loan in the January transfer window.

The 28-year-old has only started two of United's last 15 games and was substituted at half-time during the 2-0 win over Derby County on Friday.

Mourinho told MUTV: "We need to recover but at the same time we also need to train because during this crazy time we have not had many times to work on details that you want to work on.

"It's been more about the recovery from the match and the travelling and the preparations for the next one without time to work.

"If we can have time to have a good, nice week to recover some injured players and tired players and, at the same time, work on some tactical details I think it would be good for the second part of the season."

Juan Mata is also part of the group that has headed to Dubai and the he insists the break is a chance to prepare for the second half of the season after a gruelling Christmas schedule of five games in 14 days.

He said: "It is going to be very positive for us to recharge the batteries in order to get ready for the five thrilling months of the competition that lie ahead.

"I think spending time with the teammates apart from the usual daily training can be very good.

"We will have time to train, chat, to strengthen the group.

"It's like a break in the routine of the day-to-day activity and that is always positive. I hope we come back full of energy."
