Manchester United to assess Marcus Rashford and Ander Herrera - sources

Manchester United will assess Marcus Rashford and Ander Herrera ahead of Tottenham's visit to Old Trafford this weekend after both picked up knocks against Swansea, sources have told ESPN FC.

Rashford reported a tightness in his hamstring during the first half of the 2-0 win at the Liberty Stadium while Herrera was caught on the ankle after a challenge involving Kyle Naughton.

The problems are thought to be minor but both Rashford and Herrera will be monitored by medical staff at Carrington this week.

The pair were substituted as a precaution after 67 minutes against Swansea and United are hopeful both will be fit to face Mauricio Pochettino's side in the lunchtime kick-off on Saturday.

Provided they can prove their fitness, Rashford and Herrera are in line to start against Tottenham.

Jose Mourinho said after the game on Tuesday he is not hopeful that either Paul Pogba or Marouane Fellaini will be ready to return.

Pogba has been sidelined since Sept. 12 with a hamstring injury while Fellaini has missed the last four games with a knee ligament strain picked up playing for Belgium.

Phil Jones is expected to be fit despite suffering a hip injury against Huddersfield after he was named on the bench against Swansea.

There is also hope Eric Bailly may be able to make his comeback against Tottenham.

The defender has missed the last four games with a groin injury but was able to train at Carrington on Tuesday.

United and Tottenham head into the game level on points in the Premier League table, both five points behind leaders Manchester City.
