Henrikh Mkhitaryan: I will help Romelu Lukaku help Man United

LOS ANGELES -- Henrikh Mkhitaryan has told ESPN FC that his job this season will be to create the goals for Romelu Lukaku to help Manchester United "achieve our dreams" under Jose Mourinho.

Belgian striker Lukaku has been signed to fill the void left by the departed Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney after arriving in a deal worth up to £90 million from Everton earlier this month and he opened his United account with a goal during Monday's 2-1 friendly win against Real Salt Lake in Utah.

Mkhitaryan's pass created the chance for Lukaku to score and the Armenian midfielder admits he expects that combination to become a theme for United this season.

"I am expecting a good relationship with Lukaku," Mkhitaryan said. "I know very well his stronger side.

"I am going to help him score as many goals as he can because it is very important for him, for me and for the club.

"I hope that I can help him help us achieve our dreams for this year and win lots of games."

Mkhitaryan has previously played alongside the likes of Robert Lewandowski and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at Borussia Dortmund -- world-class forwards who have scored the goals to make the German outfit Bayern Munich's closest challengers in the Bundesliga.

But Mkhitaryan insists it is impossible to compare those two with Lukaku, who he claims has "special" qualities.

"He is special," Mkhitaryan said when asked about Lukaku's similarities to his former Dortmund teammates. "He is different, and not the same.

"I have played with many good strikers, they are all different with different qualities and abilities, so you cannot compare."
