Zlatan Ibrahimovic will bow out at top of the game - Sven-Goran Eriksson

Sven-Goran Eriksson has told Omnisport he believes Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic will bow out at the top.

Ibrahimovic has scored 26 goals for United since arriving in the summer on a one-year contract with the option of a second year.

It is not yet clear whether that extension will be triggered, and the former Sweden captain has been linked with a lucrative move to MLS club LA Galaxy.

Ex-England boss Eriksson said he had expected the 35-year-old to be a hit in the Premier League and added: "The day he can't do it any more, he will be the first to say stop because he doesn't want to be a failure and he won't be.

"He is a great player. He can play in any team in the world.

"If he takes a challenge like Manchester United, I could have bet that he would be successful.

"He wouldn't have done it otherwise. If he feels his body couldn't do it, he wouldn't go because he is extremely proud and he is training very hard. He is very fit."

Meanwhile, Eriksson said he believed United captain Wayne Rooney would stay at the club for a while yet but could move to the Chinese Super League "one day."

"I would be surprised if he wasn't in the United or the England team for the next years," he said. "I'm quite sure he will be.

"I hope to see Rooney on the biggest stage for many years still. One day, he might end up in China."
