Zlatan Ibrahimovic: I could have been 'even more phenomenal'

Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has said he plays "much more intelligently" these days and would have been "even more phenomenal" if he had his current mindset 10 years ago.

Ibrahimovic made his 700th appearance in club football, when he faced Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday - - having played in Sweden, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain and France.

The 35-year-old has already made 23 appearances for United in all competitions this season despite his age, scoring 13 goals.

Ibrahimovic told the club's official website: "I think I play much more intelligently now because, of course, you change a lot during the years. You get a different physique, you get a different condition, strengths and experiences. But I wish I had the mind that I have today 10 years ago, because then I will be even more phenomenal."

The Swede could celebrate at the end of his milestone match, as United won 1-0 against Spurs, after Henrikh Mkhitaryan struck for the second game in succession. Ibrahimovic joked that it would have been the most disappointing moment of his career if Spurs had scored late on -- having given away a 1-0 lead against Everton to draw 1-1 seven days earlier.

He said: "The last game against Everton was more risky, but I was confident we would not concede any goals [against Spurs]. We looked good through the whole game. We had a lot of confidence and control.

"If we had conceded a goal at the end, I would not know what to say -- it would be the most disappointing moment of my career."
