Manchester United's Jesse Lingard hoping to top Europa League group

Jesse Lingard has set his sights on top spot in Europa League Group A ahead of Manchester United's home match against Feyenoord on Thursday.

United are third in their group, a point behind both Fenerbahce and Feyenoord, with two matches left to play. United could be knocked out of the competition on Thursday if they lose to the Eredivisie side and Fenerbahce defeat Zorya Luhansk at home earlier in the day.

In the matchday programme for Thursday's game at Old Trafford, Lingard said: "I think we're still in a strong position and are very close to the top of the group. If we get a win on Thursday, I think we'll then be in a good position to go on and win the group."

United will be hoping to continue their strong home form in the Europa League, having already defeated Fenerbahce and Zorya Luhansk. Their problems have come away from home where they have lost against Feyenoord and Fenerbahce.

"We'll have the fans right behind us and supporting us but, either way, it's vital we go out and get a result," he added.

"I wasn't involved in the first game [in Rotterdam] and watched the game on television. It looked a tough match, but the most important thing now is to bounce back and win this game for everyone at the club."
