Fans post video of overnight stay in Old Trafford before Man Utd-Arsenal

Two football fans have uploaded a video showing how they managed to successfully sleep overnight undetected at Old Trafford before watching some of the game between Manchester United and Arsenal on Saturday.

It was revealed on Tuesday that the two fans had been on a stadium tour last Friday and broke off from the rest of the party before staying overnight in a toilet.

A source close to United told ESPN FC that the pair were handed over to police in the morning of the game, which ended 1-1, and that the incident was not a security threat.

However, an almost-20 minute video has since been uploaded to YouTube by the fans contrasting with United's version of events.

The video shows the two fans running away from their stadium tour before spending the night inside the toilets, where at one point there is a knock at the door from security, who soon walk off.

The duo then appear to be watching the match against Arsenal before they are later shown being confronted by security in the concourse and made to leave Old Trafford.

According to the Daily Mail, the two friends attempted to pull the same stunt at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium, but were found by security and thrown out.

The footage from the weekend is likely to cause further embarrassment for United, who were at the centre of a security scare in May when their home match against Bournemouth had to be abandoned and rearranged after the discovery of a suspect package in a toilet.

A bomb disposal squad was called in and a controlled explosion carried out within the stadium. The package was later revealed to be a training device accidentally left in the ground.
