Henrikh Mkhitaryan should start for Manchester United - Owen Hargreaves

Henrikh Mkhitaryan should be a certain starter for Manchester United and it is unbelievable that he is "not getting a look-in," according to Owen Hargreaves.

Mkhitaryan has not played for United since the 2-1 derby defeat against Manchester City on Sept. 10. That game at Old Trafford is the only time that Mkhitaryan has started this season since joining from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

Former United midfielder Hargreaves told Squawka: "He needs to play. I can't believe that he's not getting a look-in. He would be a banker in my starting XI.

"He had a slow start at Dortmund too and he was the players' player of the year last season. He got 23 goals and 32 assists, which are staggering numbers.

"This wasn't in a terrible league against pub teams and I can't think of anybody who could put up those numbers, besides [Lionel] Messi and [Cristiano] Ronaldo. He's a top player and we haven't seen it yet at United.

"The thing is, he's such a wonderful player but I think he's also quite a sensitive guy. It would have been perfect if he started off flying with goals and assists, but the slow start has probably hit his confidence."

Mkhitaryan had suffered an injury while on international duty with Armenia before the derby defeat against City but was rushed back for that game.

United manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed that the midfielder is now training "without limitation" -- but the midfielder was not part of the matchday squad that lost 4-0 at Chelsea on Sunday.
