Ander Herrera: Man United did a 'fantastic job' to earn point at Liverpool

Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera said he thought his side put on a "fantastic" display to earn a goalless draw with Liverpool on Monday night.

David De Gea's fine saves helped keep the games scoreless, and though Man United managed just 35 percent possession -- their lowest in the league since at least 2004 -- Herrera was satisfied with the performance.

"I think we did a fantastic job," Herrera told Sky Sports. "We can be very proud of our team. Every player gave everything today.

"This is the way we have to play big matches. We were better in the first half, but they were better in the second half. David made two fantastic saves but Zlatan [Ibrahimovic] as well has a big chance.

"For us I think it's a fair point. Both teams didn't deserve to lose.

"We can take a lot of things from this game, but now we have to win matches. We want to be champions. We are Man United and we have win matches."

Ashley Young, who made his first Premier League start for Manchester United since February in the same fixture last season, said the point could be valuable in the long run.

"We defended every man as a team," Young said. "We had chances to win, but it's a tough place to come. We're happy with a point, obviously without the three, but that could go a long way."
