Manchester United's Anthony Martial feeling better after clash of heads

Anthony Martial has said he feels "much better" after suffering a clash of heads with Watford's Daryl Janmaat during Manchester United's 3-1 Premier League defeat at Vicarage Road on Sunday.

Martial, 20, collided with Janmaat and seven minutes later lost the ball in the buildup to Watford's opener before being substituted holding his head.

However, the France international reassured fans of his condition on Tuesday by tweeting: "Feel much better today. Thanks for all your support and your messages!"

Following the match Mourinho said he did not know what kind of condition Martial was in.

"I had to be on the game, at that time, and not worrying with Anthony," Mourinho said. "I have not had time to see about the situation. It wasn't an action to go to hospital.

"I didn't know why he came off, whether he was injured in his knee, his ankle or his head. I just knew, in that moment, he was not in a condition to carry on. I just knew I had to change. I don't know yet what happened."

Brain injury charity Headway has called for an independent review of football's approach to concussions following the incident.
