United's Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Luke Shaw fit for Manchester derby vs. City

Manchester United attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has won his battle to be fit for the derby against Manchester City at Old Trafford on Saturday.

United manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed that "everybody is available" meaning that Luke Shaw is not ruled out despite his withdrawal after not feeling well on England duty and Marouane Fellaini is also in consideration despite his back complaint.

Mourinho told MUTV: "I'm not saying Micki is ready to play 90 minutes but he is ready to help us. There are no injuries. Everybody has been back for at least one training session."

The comment about everybody having trained for a session is significant as Mourinho had expressed concerns on Aug. 31 about the club's South American players arriving back from international duty the day before the derby.

Ecuador's Antonio Valencia, a regular starter this season, and Argentina's Marcos Rojo and Sergio Romero, both United fringe players, have all been away with their South American nations.

The news about Mkhitaryan is the biggest boost for United though, following his thigh injury while playing for Armenia against Czech Republic nine days ago.

The Armenian FA had released a statement on Saturday, saying that his medical tests were "not encouraging" and that "usually a week to ten days is needed for recovery."
