Man United hero Marcus Rashford not worried about bench role

Marcus Rashford said he's not concerned with starting or coming off the bench after he scored the winning goal in his first Premier League appearance of the season.

The goal came about 20 minutes after Rashford came on for Juan Mata with Hull frustrating Jose Mourinho's side in front of goal.

He was in the right place to fire in Wayne Rooney's cross and keep United perfect through three league games.

"Amazing," the forward said of his 92nd-minute strike. "The first away game for me this season, so I'm just happy to get the three points and of course the goal as well."

The 18-year-old played as a substitute in the Community Shield and was then passed over in United's first two league games. But he said he wasn't worried about breaking into the starting XI.

Asked about his role as substitute, Rashford said: "It's part of playing the game, so I'm just getting on with working hard in training and just waiting for moments like this."

Rashford received a yellow card for entering the crowd, but the teenager claimed it was more of a mutual coming together.

"I don't think it was my fault," he said. "The crowd were coming onto the pitch, it's part of football."

The result put United level on points with Chelsea atop the table, and coach Jose Mourinho said nothing less than winning the title will do in his first season at Old Trafford.

"We speak about this all the time," he said. "Our objective is only one, to be champions. If at the end of the season we finish second, third or fourth, it's because somebody is better than us.

"If we finish fifth or sixth, it's because we were not good enough. We have to play to win every game."
