Marcus Rashford named Manchester United's U18 Player of the Year

Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford admitted it has been a "crazy" time for him after he won the club's Jimmy Murphy Under 18s Player of the Year award on Monday.

At an awards ceremony held at Old Trafford, which was broadcast by MUTV, the 18-year-old was rewarded for his feats in the youth ranks before a meteoric rise to the first team. Since making the step up to the first team in February, Rashford has seven goals in 15 first-team appearances.

The United striker said: "It's been a bit crazy, it's difficult to take in. It means a lot. I'm Manchester-born. It's what dreams are made of. It's important I have to thank all my coaching staff -- Nicky Butt, Warren Joyce, and my family."

Discussing his dream start, when he scored twice against FC Midtjylland after being thrown into the team following Anthony Martial's warm-up injury, Rashford said: "It worked in my favour because I wasn't thinking about the game too much, so I didn't have to think about it."
