Marouane Fellaini: Perhaps Man United fans boo me due to David Moyes link

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has wondered whether he is booed by some fans because he was signed by former manager David Moyes.

Moyes made Fellaini his first major signing for United when he brought in the Belgian from his former club Everton for £27.5 million on the final day of the transfer window in 2013.

But Moyes was sacked as Old Trafford boss in 2014 after struggling to impress following his appointment as Sir Alex Ferguson's successor, with his departure leaving Fellaini in tears.

The 28-year-old has since made 58 Premier League appearances for United but his displays have come in for criticism from some club supporters -- something which he tries to not let affect him.

"My family care more than me," Fellaini said in The Telegraph. "I am a professional, so I have to deal with it. I try not to listen. Sometimes it is difficult, but that is football and playing for a big club. Sometimes I don't understand it. Why me? I don't know.

"Sometimes, I say yes it is because I joined with David Moyes, sometimes I say no. The truth is I don't know. I know one thing, a lot of people know I work hard on the pitch and for me that's the most important thing."

United are next in action when they host Fellaini's former side Everton at Old Trafford on Sunday, with Louis van Gaal's men currently sixth in the Premier League table.
