Juan Mata: Man United prove we 'can play attractive, offensive football'

Juan Mata believes Manchester United have proved they can play attacking, attractive football.

The midfielder was frustrated United only drew 1-1 against his former club Chelsea on Sunday, but they took their tally to seven goals in three games when Jesse Lingard scored at Stamford Bridge.

United were accused of being boring earlier in the season but Mata thinks they have raised their game since.

"When you win and when you play good football, confidence grows," he told Sky Sports. "I think we're showing now that we can play a high level of football and can play attractive, offensive football.

"That's what we're trying to do -- that's what the fans want to see, so we try our best in every game. I think the last three or four games we've played really well.

"We played very good football. Coming here to Chelsea isn't easy, but particularly in the first 30 minutes and in the second half we played well -- we had it so close."

Diego Costa scored an injury-time equaliser to deny United victory at Stamford Bridge and Mata added: "But Chelsea were always pushing and they scored a late goal and we didn't have any time to get another goal. It's frustrating."
