Memphis Depay: Manchester United have to do better in finishing chances

Manchester United winger Memphis Depay says he was frustrated by the club's finishing as they were held to a 0-0 draw against Newcastle at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Depay, 21, netted twice in the 3-1 win over Club Brugge in the midweek Champions League qualifier, but struggled to make an impact as Louis van Gaal's side dropped their first points of the season this weekend.

"Opponents are more organised here," Depay said after the game. "The Premier League is stronger than in Holland, everybody knows that.

"I could have finished a couple of chances but I didn't and I have to work on that. It was frustrating. We started great and sharp and we created some chances but didn't finish them. The second half also we created some more chances but again we didn't finish it so that was the frustration.

"When you look back you have to say it was one of those days but we have to start finishing. But we have to look forward and train and be ready for Club Brugge on Wednesday."

Wayne Rooney has received the brunt of the criticism as he has yet to get on the scoresheet so far this season after being handed a central striking role, but Depay insists that he is learning from the Englishman.

"Wayne Rooney helps me a lot," he added. "He has a lot of experience. He already knows everything about the football world so if I have any questions I can ask him."
