Angel Di Maria a "good possibility" to join Paris Saint-Germain says Blanc

Laurent Blanc believes there is a good chance that Paris Saint-Germain will sign Angel Di Maria from Manchester United.

The Argentine is a target for the French champions but while Blanc has confirmed his interest in the former Real Madrid winger, he denied a deal has been agreed.

But Di Maria, who was scheduled to fly to America on Saturday to join United's pre-season tour, but missed his flight, fuelling speculation he wants to leave the club.

United paid £59.7 million for Di Maria in August 2014, when Paris Saint-Germain were also interested in him, and would be reluctant to make a major loss on the British record signing.

But former United defender Blanc would like to see him sign for PSG and appear in America for them.

"There is a good possibility [he could sign] but there is nothing official," Blanc told reporters. "There is an anticipation he is going to come to the US but as to which jersey he is going to wear, we don't know yet.

"If he does make a change hopefully it will be for Paris Saint-Germain. Right now we have to wait because there are two big clubs out there in discussion.

"Of course PSG is out looking in terms of recruiting an offensive player, whether it is Di Maria or somebody else. Of course a coach would like to see somebody like him but there is nothing official at this moment."

United manager Louis van Gaal admitted he did not know why Di Maria missed his flight to America. The 2014 Champions League winner had been granted more time off after helping his country reach the final of the Copa America.

Di Maria lost his place in the United team after he was sent off against Arsenal in the FA Cup and only began one of their final 10 games last season.
