Angel Di Maria's home put up for sale followed attempted burglary

Angel Di Maria's mansion near Manchester has been put up for sale after he was the victim of an attempted burglary at the end of January.

The Argentina international, who has now reportedly moved into luxury accommodation in the city centre, has seen the luxury house in the Cheshire town of Prestbury put on the market for 4.15 million pounds.

Criminals tried to break in to Di Maria's house on Jan. 31, after United beat Leicester 3-1, when the former Real Madrid player and his family were inside.

The six-bedroom property is described by the estate agent as a "magnificent mansion set in well-manicured grounds in the heart of Prestbury on a private road."

Di Maria's house includes an indoor swimming pool, a Jacuzzi and a two-bedroom staff apartment over the garage.

While his decision to move could fuel speculation about his future, United's assistant manager Ryan Giggs is optimistic the former Benfica player will be able to excel against Arsenal in Monday's FA Cup quarterfinal.

"I think his confidence is fine," Giggs told reporters. "He's a quality player and we'll be looking for him to produce because it is big game after big game now.

"Players get used to different leagues, sometimes quickly and sometimes it takes a bit of time. He had a really good start to the season but with players who take risks and who can win games it's always difficult to be consistent because they will try things that other players won't do.

"They're capable of doing that and that's why they're match-winners and the best players."

Di Maria cost a British record fee of 59.7 million pounds when he joined from Real in August but was taken off at half-time in United's win over Sunderland and after 59 minutes in the victory at Newcastle last week.
