Usain Bolt slams Louis Van Gaal's tactics at Manchester United

The expanse of Louis Van Gaal's critics has spread to other sports, with Olympic sprint champion Usain Bolt the latest to share his opinion on Manchester United's tactics.

Last week West Ham manager Sam Allardyce hit out at Van Gaal for a perceived tendancy to play long balls, and then former United player Paul Scholes called the club's football under the Dutchman "miserable."

Now Bolt, a strident United supporter, has added his name to the list of Van Gaal's detractors, telling the Daily Mail: "For me, with teams... if you are going to implement a style I think you first have to work out if a team can handle it.

"I don't think this passing method that he has is ever going to work for Manchester United. Unless he changes all the players.

Bolt also put the blame on some of Manchester United's players, saying they are not up to par with the team's commanded by Sir Alex Ferguson.

"He's trying to break down teams with this passing game, but United is not that team," Bolt said of Van Gaal.

"If we had Giggs and Scholes still both in the middle, then it could be good.

"Mata is good but he's too small. Rooney's good but he plays a bit slow, and as a midfielder you've got to really move quickly. Like [Chelsea's Eden] Hazard or some of the players for Arsenal."
