Man United sign Sadiq El Fitouri three weeks after Salford City debut

Sadiq El Fitouri will now be plying his trade at Old Trafford.

Salford City defender Sadiq El Fitouri has described his move to Manchester United as "a dream come true."

El Fitouri, 20, was previously on the books at Manchester City, but signed an 18-month deal with the Premier League side on Friday after impressing on a week-long trial (including a behind-closed-doors match) at the club's training complex.

The right-back, who was born in Libya, was given his Salford City debut just three weeks ago by former United players Paul Scholes and Phil Neville -- co-owners of the club alongside Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville, Nicky Butt and billionaire Valencia owner Peter Lim -- and he will now play for United's under-21s side under Warren Joyce.

El Fitouri told United's official website: "This is honestly a dream come true for me and I have to thank Salford City for the chance, as well as the faith they have shown in me.

"I am really looking forward to what happens next and to be given the opportunity to do so at Manchester United is unbelievable."

Sadiq's brother Hamam is currently a youth-team player with fellow Premier League side Burnley.
