Hernandez to join Man Utd's US tour

Without a question, Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez is the most recognisable player in Mexican soccer.

Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez will join the squad in Los Angeles on Tuesday night, just in time for the first game of their US tour.

The Mexican striker's future has been up in the air with the arrival of new boss Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford, but it seems he will be given his chance to shine ahead of the new Premier League season.

A statement on the United website read: "The frontman was not among the party that jetted out from Manchester on Friday but will link up with the Reds on the eve of the friendly against LA Galaxy (kick-off 20:06 local time on Wednesday, 04:06 BST on Thursday).

"Chicharito appeared off the bench in all four of Mexico's games at Brazil 2014, including the last-16 tie against the Netherlands, in which El Tri were shattered by two late goals after leading 1-0.He joins  fellow strikers Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Will Keane in Louis van Gaal's squad in the USA."
