Man City consider warm weather break ahead of season finale - sources

Manchester City are considering a warm weather training break in Abu Dhabi ahead of the busy end to their season, sources have told ESPN FC.

City have a free week following the Premier League clash with Stoke on March 12 because of their shock FA Cup exit to League One side Wigan last month.

The scheduled Premier League match against Brighton has been postponed, with the Seagulls playing Manchester United in the sixth round of the cup.

Pep Guardiola took his side to the United Arab Emirates last February, where they met club owner Sheikh Mansour, and City are now considering a similar trip before the international break.

Alternatively, Guardiola could give his players few days off before the final two months of the season, when their challenges for the Premier League and Champions League intensify.

The coach is keen to give City as much rest as possible rather than too much training after a run of 15 games in just over eight weeks.

He praised the facilities at the Emirates Palace hotel after they stayed there last February, saying: "To have everything on one site in this way is invaluable, and the hotel is of the very highest standard."

Jose Mourinho took Manchester United to Dubai in January, although that warm weather break was disrupted by heavy rain.
