Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho has been ruled out of the Premier League game against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday after straining a hamstring in the Carabao Cup final.
The Brazil international went off injured in the 52nd minute of Sunday's 3-0 victory over Arsenal at Wembley Stadium and the teams' league game will happen too soon for his return.
"The initial prognosis suggests the problem isn't serious," said a statement on the club's website.
Fernandinho, 32, has played in all of City's 27 league matches so far this season, starting all but one.
Last month, he signed a two-year contract extension to remain with the club until summer 2020.
