Man City's Pep Guardiola in Abu Dhabi for end of season talks - source

Pep Guardiola has flown to Abu Dhabi for an end-of-season review with Manchester City's board, a source has told ESPN FC.

The City boss is set to debrief with the club's hierarchy, which is likely to include chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak, chief executive Ferran Soriano and owner Sheikh Mansour.

Guardiola secured a third-place finish and Champions League football on the final day of the season but knows he will need to compete for silverware in his second campaign.

Among the discussions will be City's plans for the summer in the transfer market with Guardiola and director of football Txiki Begiristain reportedly set to be handed substantial funds to overhaul the squad.

Guardiola wants to add more proven quality to add to the exciting, young talent he already has in Gabriel Jesus, Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling.

Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez and Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci remain top targets but neither player will come cheaply.

City are also still to officially announce whether they will be offering new contracts to the seven players whose current deals expire over the summer, with Yaya Toure among them.

The futures of other players will be up for discussion too, particularly the likes of Joe Hart, Samir Nasri, Eliaquim Mangala and Wilfried Bony, who will return to the club after speaking their seasons on loan away from the Etihad Stadium.
