Manchester City winger Leroy Sane: Pep Guardiola has improved my game

Manchester City winger Leroy Sane has said he has taken a big step forward since he began working with coach Pep Guardiola.

Sane, 21, joined City from German side Schalke in the summer for £37 million after emerging as one of the most exciting talents in Europe.

After initially struggling to make an impact in the Premier League, partly due to a hamstring injury, the Germany international has become a crucial part of City's lineup.

Sane has started 12 of City's last 13 games -- scoring six goals -- and praised manager Guardiola for pushing him to improve.

"It is a lot of fun to work with him, and he expects a lot from me," he told German newspaper Bild.

"But that helps every single player move forward. He has improved me in all areas."

Sane is keen to take his form on to the international stage.

He has won six caps for Germany and said: "I want to prove myself now and show that I would like to be part of the national team all the time.

"I definitely took a step forward and developed."
