Pep Guardiola thrilled to face Manchester United on ICC tour

Pep Guardiola is excited that American fans will get the chance to see the passion of a Manchester Derby when the two clubs meet there this summer in the International Champions Cup 2017.

City will face United in the first derby to be finally held outside the United Kingdom after last season's preseason friendly in Beijing was cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch. The two sides will meet on July 20 although the venue is yet to be decided.

Guardiola's side also play Real Madrid at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on July 26 and Tottenham Hotspur at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee on July 29.

"Manchester City has a unique bond with the United States and our players and staff are looking forward to visiting this summer and playing in front of our fans," Guadiola said.

"The International Champions Cup is a fantastic tournament, and we are delighted to be invited to compete in it once again. We have some great games lined up in some amazing stadiums.

"The Real Madrid game will be an incredible occasion in Los Angeles, and we know all about the strength of our English opponents Tottenham, for the game in Nashville. And it will be amazing for the fans to see the passion of a Manchester derby in the States.

"We're all very excited to begin our preparations for the new season in the USA."

City players Ilkay Gundogan and Gabriel Jesus, who are both recovering from injury, were in New York for the launch event of the fifth International Champions Cup.
