Gabriel Jesus set to attend Manchester City's game against Chelsea

Gabriel Jesus will get his first taste of English football when he takes in Manchester City's top-of-the-table Premier League clash with Chelsea on Saturday.

Jesus, who will be eligible to play for City when the transfer window opens on Jan. 1 after signing on a five-year deal from Palmeiras in August, flew to Manchester on Wednesday night after helping the Brazilian club clinch their domestic championship at the weekend.

The 19-year-old has remained on loan at Palmeiras until the end of the Brazilian season and was in tears on Sunday as the club won a record ninth title.

The Brazil international will visit City's Etihad Academy this week and will meet some of his new teammates for the first time as they prepare for their clash with Chelsea.

Jesus, who has now made six appearances for Brazil and scored five goals, is expected to take a break before joining up with the squad in the New Year.

However, he is already targeting a second title in six months with City come May.

"Here in Brazil I got the habit of winning titles, now I hope there are many more to celebrate in the future," he told reporters on the pitch after clinching the title with a victory over Chapecoense, who lost 19 players to a plane crash this week ahead of the first leg of their Copa Sudamericana final against Atletico Nacional.

City beat rival clubs including Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain to sign Jesus in a £27 million deal and he is highly regarded by the club.

However, Guardiola said shortly after his signing was confirmed in August that they need to be patient with his development.

"For Jesus, it's the first time he goes to Europe. But here he is going to find a good environment, quiet, to work every day. There will not be a lot of problems," he said. "We will be there to help him. If he wants to be helped, we are going to help him."

Jesus revealed in September that a telephone call from Guardiola had helped to convince him to sign for City.
