Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has backed former teammate Claudio Bravo to bounce back from his poor display in Manchester City's 4-0 loss at the Nou Camp. The Group C Champions League game saw Bravo sent off in the 53rd minute while City were a goal down, and Barca duly seized the advantage as Lionel Messi completed his hat trick while Neymar added a fourth late in the game.
Despite Bravo's error against his old club, Stegen feels that the City stopper will not be overly worried, as he continues to adapt to life in England. "Bravo and I talked about other things, but in the end these are things that happen -- that's life for the goalkeeper," Marca reported Stegen as saying. "This happens sometimes but [in the long term there is] no problems for him or for his team. "Until the red card we had problems. At first it was a very difficult match, but we were finally able to make a lot of goals. For us it was very good."
The Germany stopper was also quick to laud praise on teammate Messi, who once again proved he is one of the world's best attacking players. "Leo Messi is very important to us, to our way of playing, but we also have many players who can score and move the ball," he added. "We have one of the best teams in the world, but you have to prove it every week." The win kept Barcelona at the top of Group C while City sit in second place, five points behind the Catalan giants.
