Nolito: Man City must believe any team is beatable, including Barcelona

MANCHESTER -- Manchester City forward Nolito believes he knows the secret of beating Barcelona ahead of their Champions League clash on Wednesday.

A former La Masia youngster, Nolito scored a brilliant goal and set up two more in a 4-1 win for Celta Vigo last season in Barca's worst defeat in nine years.

He chose a move to City ahead of a return to the Nou Camp in the summer, and says City need to stick to the principles that won them their first 10 games under new boss Pep Guardiola.

"We need to run more, we need to have more of the ball, score more goals than them. Of course they are one of the best teams in the world so we need to compete," the Spain international told reporters.

"They are very powerful, but we need to go out and do our job the best we can. We need to respect every team but never have fear of any rival. We have to think any team is beatable and that includes Barcelona.

"Personally I don't fear anyone, so if I get the chance to play I will try to help the team get three points."

Nolito turned 30 on Saturday when he scored the equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Everton to keep City top of the Premier League.

It was his fifth goal in 10 appearances for City, after he missed three games following a late red card for a headbutt in the 4-0 victory over Bournemouth last month.

And he says he is happy with the start he has made at the Etihad following his £13.8 million move in July.

"I had the chance to work with Guardiola at Barcelona and I liked his quality, his philosophy, his way of playing. It's great for our team that he came here," he added. "It's working out so far and we are doing pretty well."
