Manchester City's Claudio Bravo 'calm' ahead of return to Barcelona in UCL

Manchester City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo has said he has nothing to prove when he returns to Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Bravo will start against his former club at the Camp Nou on Wednesday, and the Chile international told Marca he would "return with calmness."

"I return looking forward to playing a very attractive game. Barca and City have similar styles and both teams have weapons to win," he said.

"I did what I had to do there and I'm happy to return to a venue that opened the doors to world football for me."

Bravo was sold to City for a reported £17 million this summer after deciding he did not want to be backup to Germany international Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

The 33-year-old, who helped the club retain the Liga title last season, added: "I left with a feeling of having done a good job.

"Since the first game, I had a good connection with the fans of Barcelona. Is there anything better for oneself than to do a good job?"

He said he expected a tough night against former colleagues Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar.

"It's a privilege [to play against them] because they are great players," he said. "It's a motivation to face them."

Messi marked his return from a groin injury by scoring Barca's fourth in Saturday's 4-0 home win over Deportivo La Coruna.

"He is the best player in the world," Bravo said. "It's no surprise what Leo does. The only way to stop him is for us to play very well, with a different intensity.

"Leo is magical. He makes the difference."

With City coach Pep Guardiola also making a return to his old club, Bravo said: "He is a magnificent person.

"What I would highlight the most is the personal side. As a coach, undoubtedly he has had an incredible career. He is very intelligent and methodical."
