Joe Hart and Yaya Toure start for Man City against Steaua Bucharest

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart was named captain for the Champions League playoff second leg against Steaua Bucharest.

New City boss Pep Guardiola has used Willy Caballero in goal so far this season and is set to sign Claudio Bravo from Barcelona this week.

Hart, 29, is expected to leave the Etihad Stadium before the close of the transfer window, but he has been given the chance to appear in front of the home fans again in Wednesday's match as City look to secure their place in the group stage, having won the first leg 5-0 in Romania.

Yaya Toure will make his first appearance of the season after being named in the starting lineup, while 19-year-old right-back Pablo Maffeo makes his debut.

Sergio Aguero, David Silva, Fernandinho and Raheem Sterling are on the bench but Kevin De Bruyne and Nicolas Otamendi are omitted from the squad.

Manchester City XI: Hart, Maffeo, Stones, Kolarov, Clichy, Fernando, Toure, Delph, Nolito, Navas, Iheanacho.

Substitutes: Gunn, Adarabioyo, Angelino, Fernandinho, Aguero, Sterling, Silva.
