Joe Hart: Man City set up for a 'rumble at the Bernabeu' after first-leg draw

A goalless draw against Real Madrid is an acceptable result for Manchester City, goalkeeper Joe Hart said after keeping a clean sheet in the first leg of their Champions League semifinal on Tuesday.

Hart made a number of fine saves to prevent Real Madrid, who were playing without the injured Cristiano Ronaldo, from finding an away goal at the Etihad.

"We've set it up for a good, old-fashioned rumble at the Bernabeu," Hart said.

The goalkeeper added that Manchester City will be prepared for the second leg at the Estadio Bernabeu next week.

"We're ready. The way we set up, the way we work," Hart said. "We've got a brilliant squad that's finally coming to fruition, in terms that the majority are fit now. In fact, everyone is fit."

Captain Vincent Kompany was less enthusiastic about the first-leg result, but he still remained confident that City could find an away goal in Madrid.

"Nil-nil is a very dangerous score. From the moment we manage to score in Madrid, it will be a very different game," he said.

"But 0-0 is a good result. It is hard to keep a clean sheet against such a good attacking team. Overall, we can be proud of what we have achieved in the first leg of this game. Obviously everything's going to be played for next week now."

Kompany said Real Madrid were only really able to attack Hart's goal through set pieces.

"They had a very clear game plan," he added. "They tried to hit us on the break, like they've done to be fair in most of the games that they've been playing.

"Hart had to make a few saves but they were mostly off set pieces, so we need to look at that next time and make sure that doesn't happen.

"I thought on set pieces we were dangerous as well. It's too close to call at the moment."
