MANCHESTER -- Vincent Kompany has declared himself 100 percent fit to face Real Madrid and warned the Spanish giants that Manchester City have no fear heading into their Champions League clash. Kompany, 30, was rested for Saturday's 4-0 Premier League victory over Stoke City but is ready for the club's first ever Champions League semifinal on Tuesday night. And the Belgium international said that if City play at their best at the Etihad Stadium, they can be a match for the 10-time European Cup winners. "I think we only have one thing, that is the pressure for us," he told a news conference. "We cannot fail to reach our best level. If we play the level we can, I think everyone will see a very competitive game and we will have a chance. "We have great players in the team of course and when we talk about the maturity, the players are all players who can play at that level. To play against those top players, that is what you want. I don't think these occasions are stressful. I want this for myself. All the players want this for themselves." Kompany has played just one match since recovering from the calf strain that has plagued him in recent years -- the latest setback being the 14th such injury he has suffered. But the City captain says he is more focused on looking at the positives of coming back from those injuries rather than the injuries themselves. "I'm 100 percent fit," he said. "Everything went well and, as always, unfortunately when you're injured you have to work a lot harder than the rest and that's what I did. "People talk about my injuries but I talk about my comebacks. That is what I have in my head. People talk about 14 injuries to my calf and I talk about 14 times I have come back and played like I have never been away. It takes a lot of strength of character to do that. "I will only blame myself if it's for a lack of effort which has never been the case." Kompany insisted the City fans can make the difference on Tuesday. The Etihad Stadium was a sell-out for the quarterfinal victory over Paris Saint-Germain and will be again this week, with the defender calling on supporters to make it an intimidating atmosphere for Madrid. "We play against one of the greatest clubs of all-time," he said. "Our support tomorrow will be able to make the difference. If they turn up, I've never seen a City team not perform when the fans turn up. Otherwise, what's the point of buying a ticket? That's what we need from them."
