Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure to miss Norwich, doubt for Kiev

MANCHESTER -- Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has been ruled out of Saturday's game at Norwich with a heel injury.

Toure could also miss the Champions League round-of-16 second leg against Dynamo Kiev on Tuesday and next Sunday's Manchester derby against United.

The Ivorian suffered the injury in the Capital One Cup final victory over Liverpool at Wembley, sitting out the 3-0 defeat to the same opponents at Anfield three days later.

The 32-year-old returned for the 4-0 win over Aston Villa, scoring the opener, but manager Manuel Pellegrini revealed that he was still in pain and would not be playing at Carrow Road.

He told a news conference: "Yaya Toure has a problem in his heel, the same problem [which was] why he couldn't play against Liverpool. We'll see next week how he improves."

Asked whether Toure would be back for the Champions League clash, he said: "We don't know, we must see. It's a pain in his heel. Sergio [Aguero] had the same problem. I hope that Yaya can return sooner."

Kevin De Bruyne, Samir Nasri and Fabian Delph are also still out, but Pellegrini hopes they could return soon after the international break in mid-March.

All three have suffered long-term injuries -- Nasri has been out for five months with a tendon problem, De Bruyne damaged knee ligaments in January and Delph hurt his Achilles tendon last month.

Pellegrini said: "It's very important, not only for De Bruyne but also Fabian Delph and Samir Nasri because they play in similar positions.

"I hope that after the international break they can work for another 15 days more and be fit for the rest of the season."
